Very professional and helpful — provided alternatives that were beneficial. Very nice.
Old-home values.
Whether your home is a century-old craftsman, a mid-century ranch, or a newer family home, the goal is the same: thoughtful repairs, practical improvements, and work that helps the house function better while still feeling like itself.

Home repairs don't need to be complicated. Tell me what's going on and send a photo if you have one. Whether it's one repair or a list of projects, we'll figure out the next step together.
“A perfect solution for the odd jobs around the house that are too small for a contractor.”
The work in real homes
Thoughtful repairs. Practical improvements. The kind of projects that help a home work better, look better, and feel better cared for.
Checklist
One Visit. Multiple Projects.

Some of my favorite days start with a homeowner's checklist. A sticking door, a loose handrail, drywall repairs, new light fixtures, fresh caulk, shelves, hardware, and all the little projects that never seem to get done. Instead of calling multiple contractors, let's start crossing things off.
“A perfect solution for the odd jobs around the house that are too small for a contractor.”
Entryways
The first thing you see. The last thing you touch.

Doors should open smoothly, latch securely, and feel right. I repair sticking, sagging, drafty, and hard-to-lock doors, install hardware and weatherstripping, repair storm and screen doors, and provide refinishing or replacement when needed.
“He was able to restore it to its original state.”
Finishing
Repairs that disappear.

A ceiling stain, plaster crack, or damaged wall can make an otherwise beautiful room feel neglected. I repair drywall, plaster, water damage, cracks, and finishing details so the repair disappears and the room feels cared for again.
“Took the time to make sure the job was completed the right way.”
Kitchens & baths
Small improvements. Daily impact.

Most kitchens and bathrooms do not need a remodel. They need attention. A dripping faucet, fresh caulk, better lighting, a quieter fan, updated hardware, or a garbage disposal that finally works again. Small improvements often make the biggest difference in the rooms you use every day.
“No stone or option left unturned.”
Lighting
Better light. Better living.

Lighting changes how a home feels. From ceiling fans and dining fixtures to vanity lights, sconces, dimmers, and exterior lighting, I help homeowners make practical upgrades that improve comfort, visibility, and everyday life.
“The quality of his work is outstanding.”
Technology
Technology that belongs in the home.

The best technology feels effortless. I install and set up televisions, soundbars, video doorbells, smart locks, security cameras, streaming devices, and other home technology so everything works the way it should without the frustration.
“Helpful with problem solving.”
Storage
A place for everything.

Many homes do not need more space. They need better use of the space they already have. Shelves, hooks, closet systems, mudroom storage, artwork, and finishing touches can help a room feel complete and make daily life run more smoothly.
“I was impressed by Jon's willingness to problem solve.”
Safety
Confidence in every step.

A secure handrail, a thoughtfully placed grab bar, or a safer stairway can make everyday life easier and more comfortable. The best safety improvements feel sturdy, dignified, and like they always belonged in the home.
“I trust him with all of my projects.”
Exterior
Protect what you already have.

The outside of a home is where small problems become expensive ones. I repair trim, gates, railings, rot, weatherstripping, and exterior details before water, weather, and time turn minor issues into major repairs.

Jon did a great job communicating with us throughout the project. He also took the time to make sure the job was completed the right way and even addressed other issues that were not completed properly by the previous contractor. We would highly recommend Jon if you are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, and goes above and beyond to ensure the work is done right and completed on time.

Jon fixed some walls and ceiling drywall. Did an excellent job and well priced. Very trustworthy!

Based here in Clintonville.
I've always loved homes—their history, their character, and the way they shape our daily lives.
Growing up in Bexley, I helped restore and care for a 1908 home, developed a love of craftsmanship through four years of high school wood shop, and eventually built a career in marketing and technology after graduating from Ohio State.
But no matter where life took me, I kept coming back to the same thing: helping people solve problems, improve their homes, and take pride in the places they live.
Today, I live in Clintonville with my wife and three children. The Clintonville Handyman is built around two things I care deeply about: people and homes.
